Not used to wiki's, hope I put this in the right place. :)

you can't try it out now "without modifications to your xbox", you need a patched firmware for your dvd drive
// ??
I've removed links to piracy sites. I know that currently you have to behave like a pirate to flash your drive and make an image out of your original disc, but still. Please don't link to them. Tmbinc 14:06, 3 Apr 2007 (PDT)
Hasn't some "team" developed an open-source alternative firmware?
I respect the policy but that is just hypocracy in its worst form.
1. Removing links to a pdf-tutorial about firmware flashing? 2. Removing links to a pdf-turorial about making iso-backups?
Then you have to ask what the site policy is good for and what the goal of this site is? (written by unknown user - please always add signature with quad-~, thanks! - tmbinc)
The goal is to be as unattackable as possible. The goal is not to parent the user or anything about morality. It's just that direct-linking to a tutorial on "how to copy games" makes it easier to attack us. If possible, please link google searches, i think that's a good compromise. Anyway, it's just my opinion. What are others thinking? Tmbinc 16:21, 18 Apr 2007 (PDT)
- I totally agree with tmbinc. Free60 is a place for all the things you can legally do with your Xbox (and running Linux as such is not illegal). So, we don't want to support piracy. It is very hard to make that point clear since the security systems of most consoles are built to prevent both homebrew and piracy at the same time. Hacking the security systems for homebrew mostly means having it hacked for pirated copies as well. The more ovious linkages there are between Free60 and the piracy people, the more easy it is for outsiders (lawyers, media, Microsoft, ... :-D) to believe that not only our methods, but also our goals are identical. In order to prevent that, please don't post such links. masteraxl 19:33, 20 Apr 2007 (PDT)
